Fruit and ornamental cultivars of own breeding
Non traditional
or alternative fruit crops are characterized by resistance to both abiotic and
biotic factors of an environment and valuable biochemical composition of fruits.
They pawn a basis for an organic horticulture without of agricultural
chemicals. Now a new fruit
plants are promising not only for the amateur but also for industrial growing.
Also this trees and shrubs as ornamental plants are very beautiful in both
flowering and fruit-bearing. I carry out the breeding programs to develop my favorable crop - chaenomeles, or Japanese quinces, and also sea buckthorn, cornelian cherry, hawthorn, rowan and service tree, sorbaronia, nashi, service berry, peach, both Bessey and Manchu cherry, cherry elaeagnus, black currant, barberry, mahonia, mulberry, flowering plum, rose and also another a fruit and ornamental trees and shrubs under the conditions of East Ukraine. In the Register of plant varieties of the Ukraine 9 cultivar of my breeding are included: 4 - chaenomeles, 3 - hawthorn, 1- cornelian cherry, and 1 - sea buckthorn. (means caliph) Cultivar is included in the Register of plant varieties of Ukraine since 2001. It's a specimen of hybrid group Californian chaenomeles - Chaenomeles ×californica. The shrub grows about 2 m high, with erect branches, spineless or sometimes armed short lateral branchlets terminated by a spur. The flower is white with pink. The fruit is ellipsoidal, ovoid and globose, yellow, fragrant with hard, acid fresh. Fruit weight is 80-150 g. It ripens in mid September. The fruit is used for making preserves, candied fruit, jelly, jam, juice, syrup, liquor etc. |

Both parentage and morphological-economic features are the same. Shrubs up to 1 m high, with spreading spineless branches. The flower is orange red. The fruit is gnarly apple-shaped, yellow, fragrant with hard, acid flesh. Fruit weight ranges from 40 to 100 g. It ripens in early September. The fruit is used for making preserves, candied fruit, jelly, juice, syrup, liquor etc. |

Harvest in mid-late August. |
